    ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT:
For the second consecutive year the Buckeye Local Schools received the Ohio Department of Education’s highest academic rating “EXCELLENT WITH DISTINCTION”. This recognition is truly a validation to all of the hard work done by our students, staff, parents and administrators on a daily basis.

    FINANCIAL STATUS:
The Buckeye Local School District was placed in “Fiscal Caution” by the Ohio Department of Education in April, 2009. The school district will remain in fiscal caution until the treasurer can show that the district will have a positive fund balance for two consecutive years. The date for the end of the district’s fiscal year is every June 30th. The superintendent and treasurer believe the only way that the school district can accomplish getting out of fiscal caution is to pass an additional operating levy. Due to the poor economy and the district receiving $500,000 in unexpected federal stimulus money to delay the projected deficit the school board voted NOT to go on the ballot in November. The superintendent and school board strongly believe that the school district should not go on the ballot until absolutely necessary.

    ONE SCHOOL - ONE BUCKEYE:
The unifying of the Buckeye Elementary Schools occurred over the summer by the Ohio Department of Education at the request of the Buckeye Local School Board. The elementary school building on the main campus will house a Primary School with grades kindergarten through third and an Intermediate School housing grades four through six with a few preschool rooms that were specifically built for preschool children. In addition to the Primary and Intermediate School, the High School and Junior High School are all located on the main campus.
